World Class Off-Road Racing in Lake City This Weekend at Southside Raceway: Free Admission

COLUMBIA COUNTY, FL – World class off-road racing is coming to Columbia County's RC Raceway at the Southside Sports Complex in Lake City this Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24. This weekend's regional event is a precursor to the Fuel 1/8 Off-Road Nationals which will be held on the Lake City track June 14-17.
This weekend's races are shaping up to be very exciting with some of the nation's leading drivers on hand. Practice and qualifying begin at 8 am each day. The championship races are scheduled to begin Sunday afternoon. Starting time for the championships is between 2 and 4 pm depending on the conclusion of the qualifying heats.
Earlier in the week, world champion and rated number 1 in the world Ty Tessmann flew in from Alberta, Canada to be on hand to prepare for the Nationals. Both he and his dad, who is his mechanic, will be available to answer questions and sign autographs.
Southside Raceway is a public/private
partnership between Columbia County and
Gateway RC.
If you have never seen this kind of racing, be prepared for an exciting time this weekend at the Gateway RC Raceway located in the Southside Sports Complex in Lake City.
The raceway is located at 1963 SW Bascom Norris Drive, Lake City, FL.
Admission is free.
The Southside Sports Complex is maintained by Clint Pittman and the Southside Sports Complex grounds crew.
There are real restrooms for the whole family.
