The Lake City Report is the nuts and bolts of government. Read the report and see your tax dollars at work and become familiar with your city government.

Airport Terminal Project:  Construction of the City’s new, 6,000 SF Multi-Use Airport Terminal Building and associated infrastructure is moving forward as planned.  Funding sources for this project will be from FDOT aviation project funds, the FAA Airport Improvement Program, and the City Airport Construction Account.  The projected cost of the project is $1,800,000 and Passero Associates, LLC is the design Architect.

Passero has completed all design work, prepared bid documents and advertised for bids. A mandatory pre-bid meeting was held at the existing airport terminal on November 20, 2009 with bid openings on December 18, 2009 at City Hall.

A staff proposal for construction bid award will be presented to the Council in January 2010 and construction activity is expected to begin in February 2010.

Blanche Hotel:   A letter was recently received on behalf of the Downtown Development Trust which owns the Blanche Hotel.   With the letter, the City and any of its agents, employees, or designated representatives were granted full and complete access to the Hotel.   The authority includes access by structural engineers, architects, appraisers, or other professionals the City wishes to engage in order to evaluate the building acquisition and/or development relationship potential.  The Staff will request Council consideration for services of a structural engineer during the December 21, 2009 meeting.
