LCPD toy drive a huge success

Members of the Lake City Police Department set out to raise enough money to buy Christmas presents for twenty children. In a very short period of time the word spread out that we were looking for needy families, and money or toy donations.

The LCPD Wishes you a
Joyous  & Safe Holiday Season!

The Lake City Police Department received a large outpouring of support.

Wal-Mart, S&S Food Stores, Employees of Family Dollar, Dollar General, members of the Community, and members of the Lake City Police Department worked together to share the Christmas spirit with children in our community.

Our goal of identifying twenty children in need quickly turned into a much larger number.

We are excited to have supplied over sixty children with Christmas presents this year. We are hoping to be able to be as successful next year.

Chief Argatha Gilmore commented, "I am proud that we were able to work together with the businesses and the citizens of Lake City to help these children have a better Christmas this year."
