Homicide Suspect Arrested in North Carolina

On Saturday, May 14, 2016, the Lake City Police Department responded to the Ramada Limited (3340 W US 90) in Lake City. Initial calls reported gunshots had been fired and there was one victim in the parking lot.
Responding officers arrived at on-scene approximately one minute after the initial call was received by LCPD’s Communications center. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, (Jeffrey Bryant Reeves, W/M, 03/27/1965), unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim died at the scene.

Investigators with LCPD’s Criminal Investigation Division and State Attorney’s Office have been working diligently on this case.
A major break in the investigation occurred on October 31, 2017. The suspect, Lara Snyder (W/F 02/20/1994), was arrested in Huntersville, North Carolina on an unrelated offense. During the homicide investigation, LCPD investigators obtained sufficient probable cause for the arrest of Lara Snyder.
On July 30, 2018, investigators from LCPD’s Criminal Investigation Division and the State Attorney’s Office traveled to Asheville, North Carolina with an arrest warrant and located Lara Snyder.
Lara Snyder was arrested on a warrant for Homicide, 2nd degree.
LCPD and the State Attorney’s Office are awaiting Lara Snyder’s extradition from North Carolina.
