County Health Dept & Palms Medical Join in Health Fair:  Get Checked Saturday Morning – It's Free


The Dept. of Health Mobil Dental Clinic will be on site for tours and free screenings.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, FL – The Columbia/Hamilton County Health Departments and Palms Medical Group, a medical/dental provider with locations throughout North Florida are joining together in a free health fair Saturday morning, June 6, beginning at 9am. There will be free dental screenings, free health screenings, blood pressure checks and more, including door prizes. County Health and Palm Medical personnel with be on hand to answer your questions and explain their services.

The Columbia/Hamilton County Health Department ensures basic health services for adults who are uninsured, or under-insured adults who do not qualify for federal assistance programs.

Primary health care is provided for those people who fall within the assistance that the Florida Department of Health in Columbia County is qualified to give. Some of the basic services include physical examinations, cholesterol and CBC tests, diabetes and thyroid screenings as needed, and liver enzyme blood tests.


Basic dental services are available at Palm. Stacy Patterson admires the work of dental hygienist Kelly Tyler.

The Dept. of Health also provides a variety of clinical nutrition services, wellness programs, and services for women, infants, and children.

The Columbia/Hamilton mobile dental clinic is a fixture at many public schools throughout the school year, where it provides dental care and education for many of the children in Columbia/Hamilton Counties.

Palm Medical, formally the Family Health Center, is located at 173 N.W. Albritton Lane, Lake City. (phone: 386-752-5904)

Palm provides a full range of health care services, flexible hours, bilingual  and financial services.

Palm also offers pediatric care, mental health and substance abuse services, as well as complementary alternative medicine such as chiropractic care.


Sue Fraze, one of Lake City's most experienced health administrators, now with Palm Medical, will be on hand.

Palm is a federally qualified community health center.

Both the Columbia/Hamilton Departments of Health and Palm Medical accept most public and private insurance, Medicare and Medicaid. For the uninsured both providers offer a sliding fee scale based on income. No one is denied  medical services because of lack of insurance or income.

County Health Department Director, Mark Lander, will be there, along with some of his staff to answer your questions.

Representatives from Palm Medical Group will also be in attendance.
