COLUMBIA COUNTY, FL – Florida Gateway College is offering free childcare services for FGC students, faculty, and staff beginning this fall.
Little Wolves Child Care will operate Monday through Friday from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. at FGC's Multi-Purpose Center, formerly the Lake City Boys Club. Children aged five to 12 will spend afternoons in a caring and safe environment while their parents or guardians work and study on the FGC campus.
“One of the biggest challenges for non-traditional students is the ability to have quality, inexpensive childcare while going to school,” said FGC President Dr. Lawrence Barrett. “This program will provide students who attend FGC the opportunity to have free childcare while attending class, studying, or researching for a project or paper.
"This unique drop-in childcare is another initiative that FGC is rolling out to help students attend college and complete their studies."
By providing free child care to the FGC community, the college is continuing its mission to make quality education and success accessible to everyone, no matter their circumstances. FGC students, staff, and faculty can focus their full attention on their studies, classes, and projects, knowing that their children are in a secure, enriching, and fun environment.
